No Mess Watercolor Painting with Washable Brush Pens and Other Kid Summer Activities

My kids love to paint with watercolors but the activity typically ends with the cup of water spilling and a mess of water and color everywhere, ruining the art and provoking tears. We recently found a product that eliminates the mess and has lots of other functions!

I recently purchased refillable water brush pens to use with our Buddha Board, Water Wow pads and water doodling mats. My kids loved using the refillable water brush pens for these purposes, and they are better quality than the water pens and brushes that came with each of these products.

I discovered that our refillable water brush pens also work great with watercolor paints. I just fill each with water and we try to use one pen per color. I pop them brush up in this cup (which has a weighted bottom so isn’t tippy) and my kids have a ball with their art. They come in a set of 6 brushes of various widths — enough for me to divide between my kids to avoid fights!

We’ve been using them inside the house and now out on the deck, since the weather has been nice.

We dip the refillable water brush pens in washable watercolor paints, which rinses out of the brushes really easily. Then we can go back to using the brushes on our Buddha Board, Water Wow pads and water doodling mats! I’m a sucker for a multi-functional product, especially one that is useful for a broad range of ages. Even I enjoy using them!
