Best Baby Gear (and Other Products) at the BCM Biggest Baby Shower

I attended the Big City Moms Biggest Baby Shower in NYC and it did not disappoint!  The event drew 1,800 expectant and new parents, and 100+ brands were there to showcase and answer questions on their gear and products.  There were also seminars, treats and amazing goody bags!  Here is a roundup of the the most exciting baby items and other products at the event.

Baby & Toddler Items

Summer Infant 3Dtote Convenience Stroller

I get a lot of requests from moms in my Facebook group for a quality lightweight stroller in the $75-150 range.  I've been recommending the Summer Infant 3Dlite, but the Summer Infant 3Dtote seems like an even better option.

The Summer Infant 3Dtote has what they call a "Shopaholic sized expandable storage basket," and it won't get tippy.  They even integrated hooks to hold your diaper bag (don't get me started on using diaper hooks voiding my $1,000+ stroller warranty). It also features a one hand recline, padded 5-point safety harness with easy pop buckle, and large canopy with pop out visor and peek-a-boo window!

Also see my reviews of the Bob jogging stroller (my everyday stroller), GB Qbit (which offers the easiest one handed fold and unfold), and GB Pockit (which folds up incredibly compactly).

BabyBjorn Bouncer Bliss

The BabyBjorn bouncer is the one item that I tell every parent to include on their registry (see my short list of registry must haves).  The brand just released the New Bouncer Bliss, which has the same frame and structure but comes in luxurious cotton quilting and soft, child-friendly mesh.  It also features a brushed metal frame.

This bouncer is ergonomic for baby but also folds up flat like a mini ironing board so it is easy to hide when not in use or transport.  My son sat happily in it from 2.5 weeks to 12 months, and I don't think I would have been able to shower daily otherwise!

The Bouncer Bliss is available at buy buy BABY, and  Walmart.

Hello Spud Nursery Decor

Hello Spud has the most gorgeous textiles with the sweetest little details for babies and toddlers!  I was instantly drawn to the plush star blanket and the star hooded towel and washcloths (if you follow me on Instagram, you have seen my son's silver star nursery).

Every item in the Hello Spud collection is beautiful, and they offer incredible variety across their merchandise. Many of their items are organic.  I would have expected very high prices, but the items are really reasonably priced.  Add this to your list of go to baby gifts! Hello Spud is available at select buybuy BABY locations (click here to see the entire collection).

Bloom Baby Chair

This futuristic looking high chair is packed full of impressive features.  It has a three position recline (cradle to chair), making it ideal for newborns through eight years.  It is easily adjustable in height, so in cradle mode your newborn can be kept out of reach of pets, and later he can join you at the dining table or at the breakfast bar.   The chair also features large, scratch-resistant wheels concealed in the base, so you can easily move it around.

Bloom offers accessories, including this beautiful woolly seat liner to keep your baby cozy.

Parasol Diapers

I've been using Parasol diapers on my son for about a year and absolutely love them!  They are incredibly soft, and the patterns are adorable.  More important, they are cut high in back and have really effective yet soft elastic around the legs, which has pretty much eliminated my son's (previously frequent) diaper blowouts.

Green Toys Dollhouse

I've been a fan of Green Toys for a while.  I featured them in my article on dishwasher safe toys and in my holiday gift guide for babies.  They showed their doll house,  which is supposed to be released in June 2017, and it is adorable!  Find their entire product line here.  Once the dollhouse is available, you should find it here.

Smarty Pants Probiotics for Adults and Children

If you have been following me for a while, you know that I have my entire family on a probiotic regimen.  For a while, my MD father-in-law was sending me an article a week on the benefits of probiotics (I summarized the most interesting takeaways here).

If the medical benefits aren't enough, perhaps a probiotic in the form of a yummy gummy will motivate you to take one daily.  The adult and kids versions of Smartypants are equally delicious, which makes it way more likely that you and your kids will actually take them.

You should also feel good about supporting the company as it provides lifesaving vitamins to mothers and children at the risk of malnutrition through Vitamin Angels.

LifeIce Bite-Sized Ices

LifeIce are all natural, bite-sized ices that are shelf stable (available at Amazon) and freeze quickly.  Perfect if you want only a mini treat (or don't want to overindulge your child).  I tried the Berry Bite flavor and loved it.  Click here to see all available flavors.

Ask your OB if she would allow you to eat these during labor!

LifeIce are 100% natural, no preservatives, gluten-free, kosher-certified, no GMO, BPA free packaging, fat free, low in calories, low in sugars, a good source of vitamin C.
